FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (March 20, 2020) – The Fort Leonard Wood Legal Assistance Office and Tax Center, located at 316 Missouri Avenue, Bldg. 315, will continue to operate during the current COVID-19 health concern, but have instituted the following temporary protection measures for the health and safety of all clients and staff:

  • In order to reduce the number of those gathering in our facility, the Tax Center will no longer accept walk-in clients. Tax Center assistance is limited to drop-off service and appointments only. Call 573.596.1040 to schedule a drop off or an appointment. In addition, the waiting area will be limited to small numbers and open for these services only.
  • Similarly, until further notice, the Legal Assistance Office will not accept walk-in clients for attorney consultations. Call 573.596.0629 to schedule an appointment with an attorney. If possible, some appointments may be handled by telephone conference. Notary service is still available to walk-ins during our office hours (below) and on Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Both the Legal Assistance Office and Tax Center will be manned during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the Legal Assistance Office (closed Thursdays), and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Tax Center (closes at 3 p.m. on Fridays); but some of our staff may be teleworking.  We encourage you to call ahead to discuss available services or to schedule an appointment.
