Sept. 21
MSCoE CG’s Golf Scramble, 12 p.m. Sept. 21 at Piney Valley Golf Course. A four person golf scramble where the first-third of each flight will be awarded gift certificates. The size of the field will determine the number of flights. The MSCoE CG’s Golf Scramble is open to the public. Cost is $35 for AGF members and $45 for non-AGF members. Steam Lab, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Bruce C. Clarke Library. S.T.E.A.M. Lab is a place for children of all ages to come learn, play, build, and create. Enjoy kits, projects, and crafts that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The S.T.E.A.M. Sept. 21
Movie in the park is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Colyer Park. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a movie on the big screen under the stars. No show if rain or high winds. Concessions will be available for purchase from the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program. This Movie in the Park will feature the movie “Ferdinand.” This event is free and open to the public.
Sept. 22
Registration is open for the St. Louis Cardinals Military Appreciation Day slated for 12:05 p.m. Sept. 22 at Busch Stadium. Come watch the Cardinals take on the Giants. Transportation will be provided. The bus will depart from Leisure Travel Services, located in the PX Mini Mall, at 8:15 a.m. The game begins at 12:05 p.m. and the bus will return to Fort Leonard Wood once the game ends. Open to all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $40 per person for game ticket and a seat on the bus or pay $25 for the bus ride only. Ticket price includes entrance to a tailgate party after the game at 3:30 p.m., where you can enjoy free hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages. Register at Leisure Travel Services by September 19.
Sept. 26
The Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department is scheduled to host a Car Safety Seat Inspection from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Williams Elementary School, located at 8041 Pulaski Avenue. This event will give parents the opportunity to have their children’s car seats checked by certified inspectors for proper installation. To participate in the event, parents are asked to bring the car seat, car safety seat owner’s manual and the vehicle owner’s manual. In the event of inclement weather, the inspection will be held at Fort Leonard Wood Fire Station 1. For parents who cannot make the event, appointments can be scheduled at the fire department during normal working hours, which are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
