FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (May 22, 2025) — A frocking ceremony for Col. Steve Kolouch, U.S. Army Engineer School commandant, is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m., May 29, at Lincoln Hall Auditorium.

Kolouch will be authorized to wear the rank of brigadier general. Frocking is the process where a commissioned, or non-commissioned officer, selected for promotion wears the insignia, or rank, of the higher grade before the official date of promotion. Frocking provides the Army’s personnel managers with increased opportunities to meet assignment requirements.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Beck, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general, is scheduled to preside over the ceremony.

Kolouch became the U.S. Army Engineer School’s 101st commandant May 31, 2024. Prior to coming to Fort Leonard Wood, Kolouch served at the Pentagon, where he was the director of the Office of the Chief of Engineers.
