FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (May 3, 2024) – The following Fort Leonard Wood announcements are for the week of May 6 through May 10.
May 6
Starting May 6, the South Gate will be open 24/7, and the West Gate will be open from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. There are no changes to the hours of operation for the North or East gates.
May 8
The Fort Leonard Wood community is invited to attend the Community Salute to Service event at 6 p.m. May 8 in the Waynesville High School gymnasium, where future service members from high schools across South-Central Missouri will be honored for their commitment to serve their country.
May 9
The Fort Leonard Wood Transition Assistance Program is hosting a career fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 in Nutter Field House. Call 573.596.7070 for details.
May 16
The Fort Leonard Wood Commissary will have a sidewalk sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 16 to 18, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 19. Call 573.596.0783 for details.
May 22
The next Ready and Resilient, or R2, Fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 22 at the Main Post Chapel. The R2 Fair provides opportunities to participate in activities and speak with subject matter experts about resources and assistance programs that can help with life stressors. June 8
The Fort Leonard Wood Marine Corps Detachment is hosting its Volkslauf 10K fun run, starting at 8 a.m. June 8 at the Auto Skills Center. The race contains multiple man-made obstacles, mud pits and river crossings. Cost is $35 per person. Register by June 7. Fort Leonard Wood’s photo studio has head and shoulder photo appointments — for command teams and instructors — available from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Department of the Army photo appointments — when a current official photo needs to be maintained in the DA Photograph Management Information System — available from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.
