June 17

The Fort Leonard Wood Blood Donor Center is hosting an Armed Services Blood Program blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 18 in Thurman Hall,

A Wreaths Across America mobile education exhibit will make a stop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 22 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery – Fort Leonard Wood (25350 State Highway H, in Waynesville), with information on veterans and how everyone can play a part in remembering and honoring them. Army Special Operations recruiters will visit Fort Leonard Wood to provide informational briefings from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25 in Thurman Hall, Room 1521, and June 26 and 27 in Dillard Hall, Room 2108. Soldiers in the ranks of private first class through staff sergeant, and first lieutenants from year groups 2020 through 2022, are invited to attend. U.S. Army Garrison Fort Leonard Wood will conduct a change-of-command ceremony at 10 a.m. June 25 on the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Plaza, where Col. Anthony Pollio will relinquish command to Col. Steven Bartley.
There will be a Child Youth Services Hiring Fair from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 26 at Dru Pippin Youth Center. Available position is for a child and youth program assistant. Walk-ins are welcome and will need to bring resume, proof of education and social security card.

July 4
Don’t miss Fort Leonard Wood’s 2024 Independence Day Celebration beginning at 4 p.m. July 4 at Gammon Field. Join us for free musical performances by Huntley, NEWCO and the 399th Army Band. The event will also include military displays, bounce houses, petting zoo, car show, flying disk dog show and largest fireworks display in the area.
Wear your red, white and blue and join us for good messy fun at The Stars and Stripes Color Run at 9 a.m. July at Davidson Fitness Center. Cost is $10 in advance or $15 day-of. Pre-register by June 3 at Davidson Fitness Center.
The John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex will close from July 4 to 7.

The Fort Leonard Wood Commissary has new locations for drop-off orders when using the Click2Go option. They include the NCO Academy, Bldg. 3223, from 11 to 11:30 a.m.; 3200 Morelli Heights, from noon to 12:30 p.m.; 1950 Magness St., from 1 to 1:30 p.m.; 14763 Kidwell St., Bldg. 1945, from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m.; 1981 Cooksey St., from 2:30 to 3 p.m.; and 1910 Hall St., from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. Call 573.596.0783, extension 3425, for details.
The Defense Commissary Agency’s Pathways Program provides students in high school, college, technical or vocational school with opportunities to explore federal careers as paid interns, and the Fort Leonard Wood Commissary currently has open positions. Fort Leonard Wood’s Directorate of Emergency Services has policies on checking teenager Department of Defense ID cards at installation access points. If a child is with a parent or guardian, then no ID is required unless the child looks close in appearance to an adult or if the child is driving. Additionally, DOD ID card holders under the age of 18 are not authorized to sponsor non-DOD personnel on post. The South Gate is now open 24/7, and the West Gate is open from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. There are no changes to the hours of operation for the North or East gates.
Fort Leonard Wood community members needing a dress for a formal function can contact the Operation Deploy Your Dress location at the Armed Forces YMCA on post, located at 13900 Replacement Ave. Donations are also accepted.
