Nov. 6
Nov. 6 is the last day to apply for the 2018 Fort Leonard Wood Archery Cantonment Hunt. The application period will remain open until 5 p.m. The 2018 Fort Leonard Wood Archery Cantonment Hunt will include five archery deer hunts, each ranging from seven to nine days. Bowhunters will be selected by a random lottery process. Those selected will hunt in a specific block area during one of the five hunts. To register for the lottery, hunters will be required to sign in and apply on the Fort Leonard Wood iSportsman website at https://ftleonardwood. iSportsman.net.
Nov. 11
Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony, 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 starting at Waynesville Middle School. Ceremony begins at 2 p.m., followed by the parade at 2:40 p.m. Parade ends at downtown Waynesville. To participate, call 573.336.5121.
Nov. 13-15
Women’s Basic Self-Defense Classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. November 13 through 15. The November 13 class will be held at ACS Room 109. The November 14 & 15 classes will be held in the Pippin Youth Center Gym. The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) system is taught by nationally certified instructors and educates women on awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance. No experience is necessary. Open to females only, ages 14 and up. Open to service members, family members, and DoD civilians. The event is free but participants must attend all days.

Fort Leonard Wood Annual Charity Fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 4 at the USO. Between 20 and 25 charities are expected to be in attendance. The event is open to all service members, DOD employees, government contractors and military retirees.
Dec. 13
399th Army Band holiday concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Baker Theater. The concert is entitled “Letters from the Front: A Musical Holiday Card from the 399th Army Band.” The event is free and open to the public.

The Fort Leonard Wood Combined Federal Campaign is underway and is scheduled to run through Jan. 12. The CFC provides federal employees with the opportunity to donate to charities via a one-time donation or payroll deduction. According to gatewaycfc.org, the CFC is one of the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaigns, raising millions of dollars each year. The Legal Assistance Office is currently looking for full- and part-time volunteers to assist with the 2018 tax season, which runs from January through April 2019. Volunteers are needed for both weekdays and weekends. No previous formal tax training is required, as training is provided. Volunteers will attend a multi-day training session conducted by the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Interested individuals may contact Capt. Once selected, volunteers are registered with the Army Volunteer Corps.
