FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (Aug. 27, 2018) — Staff Sgt. Peter Stull, who was named the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence 2018 Drill Sergeant of the Year in May here, is currently competing at the Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for the title of 2018 U.S. Army Drill Sergeant of the Year.
The Army’s Drill Sergeant of the Year competition, which kicked off Monday and concludes Thursday, is one of the most physically demanding and mentally tough challenges any Soldier can face in a competition.
For four days, 11 competitors from across the Army must perform and instruct in more than 50 tasks and drills.
A ceremony naming the Army’s 2018 Drill Sergeant of the Year is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. Aug. 30 at Fort Sill. The winner of the Army-level competition is slated to move to Fort Eustis, Virginia.
