FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (April 25, 2025) — Engineer Regimental Week officially begins April 28 at Fort Leonard Wood, home of the U.S. Army Engineer School since 1988, where engineers from across the regiment will come together in celebration of two monumental milestones while working together to shape the future.
“We are excited to be hosting the Engineer Regimental Week, April 28 through May 2, which will be celebrating 250 years of the Engineer Regiment and 40 years of the Sapper Leader Course,” USAES Commandant Col. Steve Kolouch said.
Organizers planned specific events to promote esprit de corps while providing a venue for leaders to discuss the future of the regiment in addition to honoring the accomplishments and sacrifices of engineers both past and present.
“During this week, we will use the occasion to discuss and tell the story of engineering excellence and how we have evolved to reflect the needs of the Army and the nation we serve,” Kolouch said.
The regiment will conduct a regimental run on Wednesday, honor the fallen at Sapper Grove on Thursday, and hold several social events throughout the week. The week is capped off May 2 with an address by the Chief of Engineers Lt. Gen. William Graham Jr. and the Engineer Ball.
In addition to the traditional events of the week, Kolouch said the regiment added a series of panels to further invoke discussions this year. The panels include Task Force Engineer; Engagement Area Development; Transformation; and Industry with subject matter experts from across the regiment and those who support the regiment.
Although some events are by invitation only, the majority are open to all, Kolouch said. A schedule of events open for attendance can be found on the USAES webpage.
