FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (January 8, 2025) – The 1st Engineer Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood will host a change-of-responsibility ceremony at 9 a.m. Jan. 10 in Nutter Field House.
During the ceremony, Command Sgt. Maj. Don Batchan will transfer responsibilities as the brigade’s command sergeant major to Command Sgt. Maj. Jesse Cody.
Batchan is slated to work for the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence next before moving on to the 181st Multifunctional Training Brigade at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, later this year.
Cody comes to Fort Leonard Wood from the 11th Engineer Battalion, at Camp Humphreys, South Korea, where he served as the 11th Engineer Battalion’s command sergeant major.
The 1st Engineer Brigade trains and develops engineer Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, and prepares engineer units for full-spectrum operations.
