Nov. 30
Fort Leonard Wood Child and Youth Services is hiring and we want you. CYS will be hosting a hiring fair Nov. 30 in Bldg. 470, room 1127. Pre-register for an interview time slot online at leonardwood.armymwr.com. Interview times will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., 10 to 11 a.m., 11a.m. to 12 p.m., 12 to 1 p.m. and 1 to 2 p.m.
Dec. 2
Register for Cards to the Community through Dec. 2 and help the community celebrate the holiday season. Cards to the Community will be displayed throughout the season at the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence plaza. Enter the competition by designing a larger-than-life card. Bragging rights will go to the top three entries which will be announced at the Installation Tree Lighting of Dec. 5. Register your card by Dec. 2 by calling 573.596.6913. Trees for Troops is once again making a stop at Fort Leonard Wood to deliver real trees for the holidays. Trees are free and will be available for pickup at the Auto Skills Center. Pickup for active duty, reserve, National Guard and spouses is from 12 to 5 p.m. Dec. 2. Preregistration is required and a military ID must be presented at pickup. Register for a time slot online at leoandwood.armymwr.com or by calling 573.563.5967. Pickup for all authorized personnel will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 while supplies last.

Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with the lighting of the Installation Christmas Tree, plus a very special visit from Santa Claus. The Fort Leonard Wood Tree Lighting we be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Plaza. Ladies, show off your skills in the Ladies Army Navy Flag Football Game at 10 a.m. Dec. 10 at Gerlach Field. Cost is $10 per person and includes a t-shirt. Open to ages 18 and up. Register to play or apply to be a coach by calling 573.596.6913.
Dec. 12
The Family Child Care New Provider Briefing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 12 in the Family Child Care office. Attending a briefing is how interested applicants can begin the certification process to operate a day care in their home on Fort Leonard Wood. During this free briefing, applicants will receive a packet of information and have the option to take an application with them. Dec. 13
Join us from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Dec. 13 near the recycling bins in the PX parking lot for Walk and Talk With New Parent Support Group. This free 1-mile stroller walk promotes a healthy lifestyle and also allows parents of young children to connect with others.
The next Family Child Care Parent Advisory Meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Family Child Care office located in Building 470, room 1125. The Family Child Care Advisory Board meets once a month to discuss upcoming events for Family Child Care and Child Youth Services as a whole, as well as to provide input for Family Child Care events. Registration for winter youth sports is open until Dec. 14. The sports season will be held from Jan. 9 to March 4. All practices and games will be held at the Middle School Teen Center or School Age Center. Cost for cheer ages 5-18 is $45. Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost for basketball ages 3-4 is $25 and will consist of six Saturday morning sessions. Cost for ages 5 and up is $45 with practices taking place Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Applications for the Dental Assistant Program will be accepted through Jan. 9, The program is a free, six-month combination of classroom and hands-on training designed to provide skills necessary to become employed at any dental treatment facility. Candidates must have regular access to Fort Leonard Wood. Applications are available by calling Jason Ramlow at 816.536.0108, or by email at jason.ramlow@redcross.org.
Tricare beneficiaries ages six months and older can now receive their flu shots at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Immunizations Clinic on a walk-in basis from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. The shots will also be available for beneficiaries ages 18 to 64, federal employees, contractors who are mandated to receive the shot and tenant units without medical assists from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at the Harper Clinic, located in Bldg. 500.
The 2022 Federal Employees Health Benefits open season is Nov. 14 to Dec 12. During this time, FEHB enrolees can change their health care, vision and dental insurance coverage. More information on eligibility, enrollment, plan comparisons and premium information is available on the BENEFEDS website at benefeds.com, where you can also register for a virtual benefits fair available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 and 22, and Dec. 1 and 8.
Due to an increase in applications, the Army Benefits Center is asking Army civilian employees to submit retirement applications six months in advance. Call the Fort Leonard Wood Civilian Personnel Advisory Center at 573.596.0927 if assistance is needed.
