Press Release 17-095 Newest Soldiers bring years of experience to Army
After nearly nine years in the Marine Corps, Wayne King ended his enlistment with the intent to use Veterans Administration benefits to attend flight school.
When Sean Henninger left the Army, he joined the ranks of private contracting companies for overseas operations.
Both King and Henninger didn’t find exactly what they were looking for out of life after the military. That’s why both signed up for another attempt at the military as part of Company A, 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment.
Press Release 17-094 Marines host 18th annual Volkslauf 10k Fun Run on post Saturday
Preparations are in full swing for the 18th annual Volkslauf 10k Fun Run, which is set to take place Saturday on Fort Leonard Wood.
Held each year by the U.S. Marine Corps Detachment, the Volkslauf has been described as “an extreme” 10k, covering terrain ranging from blacktop to steep, rocky hills, heavily wooded trails, mud pits and water crossings.
This year’s race will also feature something several of last year’s runners asked for: more man-made obstacles.
