Dear Community Members,

For U.S. Army Training Centers, Holiday Block Leave is a time from mid-to late-December that provides service members in training the opportunity to go home for the holidays. Although around 4,500 service members in training left our installation to be with loved ones during HBL, about 150 spent the holiday season here with our Fort Leonard Wood family.

Command Sgt. Maj. Arzabala and I want to express our gratitude to the communities in the four-county area, as well as the south central Missouri region for making this season special for those who were unable to return home this year. Specifically, the communities of Waynesville, St. Robert, Lebanon, Rolla, and Springfield – along with others in the surrounding area – extended a tremendous amount of generosity and hospitality to our service members in training, leaving no doubt as to Missouri’s support for our military and leaving no doubt as to the many activities available here in the heart of our nation. On behalf of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood team: thank you for all you do and thank you for your continued support of our missions and our people. We are proud to serve here in the Show-Me state with each of you.
