FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (March 30, 2018) — Fort Leonard Wood plans to host the National Transition Summit in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hiring our Heroes program on April 26-27, 2018 here.

This annual event prepares service members who will transition from the military within the next 24 months, and connects them and their spouses with employment resources and jobs.

At the Fort Leonard Wood Transition Summit, participants will have the opportunity to connect directly with Human Resource experts and hiring managers via industry-specific employment briefs, attend resume building and digital networking workshops to super-charge their transition to a civilian career, and network with dozens of companies at a free evening networking reception.

The second day will include an opportunity to get firsthand information on transition, recruitment, and the hiring process during an interactive discussion with employers from a cross section of industries, followed by the chance to meet with local and national employers at a career fair in the afternoon.

The summit is mandatory for service members who will transition from the military in the next 24 months. This event is free and is open to all individuals who are eligible to receive transition assistance including active duty service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military spouses.

Registration for the event is available online at https://www.uschamberfoundation.org/event/fort-leonard-wood-transition-summit-2. During the online registration, participants will have the option to upload their resume, which will be shared with national employers who are looking to fill job openings.
