FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (Aug. 23, 2018) – A promotion ceremony for Brig. Gen. (promotable) Donna Martin and a Change-of-Command and Relinquishment-of-Responsibility Ceremony for the Commanding General and Command Sergeant Major of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood are scheduled to take place Aug. 28 on Gammon Field.
The promotion ceremony is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. at the north end of Gammon Field.
The change of command and relinquishment of responsibility will immediately follow on the main field at 9 a.m.
Maj. Gen. Kent Savre will relinquish command of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood to Martin, who most recently served as the U.S. Army Military Police School commandant here.
Savre, who took command of the post April 7, 2015, will be retiring after 34 years of military service. A retirement ceremony recognizing Savre for his contributions is planned for 4 p.m. Aug. 27 on the MSCoE Plaza.
Command Sgt. Maj. Jon Stanley, who became the installation’s top enlisted leader March 10, 2017, will pass responsibility on to Command Sgt. Maj. Henney Hodgkins, who will serve as the post’s interim command sergeant major.
Hodgkins is currently the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School regimental command sergeant major.
Stanley moves on to become the Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command.
Those attending the ceremony should plan ahead for road closures on Iowa and Constitution avenues from Minnesota to Kansas avenues, which will be closed Tuesday from 8:15 a.m. until the ceremonies have concluded.
