FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (May 16, 2018) — The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood will observe Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 29 at the Main Post Chapel.
This year’s theme is “Unite Our Vision by Working Together.”
Dr. Anne Maurina, who was raised in South Korea and is the daughter of a Korean War combat medic, is scheduled to be the guest speaker for this event, which is being hosted by the 3rd Chemical Brigade.
The program also features a karate performance by the Yamada-Ha Shito-Ryu Shukokai Dojo, from Rolla, Missouri.
According to Sgt. 1st Class James Eddings, 3rd Chemical Brigade, Equal Opportunity advisor, the event will include several displays representing various countries of the Asia-Pacific region, with cultural food samples planned.
There is no cost to attend the event, which is open to the public.
