FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (July 26, 2018) — The best of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command’s Noncommissioned Officers and Soldiers came together July 16-20 at Fort Gordon, Georgia’s, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence to test their knowledge and skills against each other – with the victors being declared as TRADOC’s Best Warriors. After five harrowing days of physical and mental stress, the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood swept this year’s TRADOC Best Warrior Competition with Pfc. David Cox winning the Soldier category and Staff Sgt. Joseph Hansen winning the NCO category.
The Best Warrior Competition recognizes TRADOC NCOs and Soldiers who demonstrate commitment to the Army Values, embody the Warrior Ethos, and represent the force of the future by testing them with physical fitness assessments, written exams, urban warfare simulations, and other warrior tasks and battle drills.
Cox and Hansen will now advance to the U.S. Army Best Warrior Competition at the end of September.
