Oct. 6

Horror Movie Series, 3 p.m. Oct. 9 at Bruce C. Clarke Library. Get into the Halloween spirit with different iconic horror movies every week. Oct. 13

Pink 5k, Duathlon and Kid’s Half Miler, 8 a.m. Oct. 13 at Davidson Fitness Center. Get fit and raise awareness about breast cancer. The free event is part of the installation’s 2018 5k Fun Run Race series. Participants can take part in the 5k fun run starting at 8 a.m., or with advance registration, take part in the duathlon, which consists of a 5k run, a 10k bicycle ride and another 5k run. S.T.E.A.M. Lab, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Bruce C. Clarke Library. The focus will be on art and costumes. Patrons and children will have the opportunity to finish up that missing piece of their costume or add that bit of flair. Some materials and assistance will be available but will be limited, so bring some of your own “notions” and maybe share with others. Zombie Attack lets children ages 12 and younger “battle the zombie outbreak: from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Main Exchange. Kids can help the Directorate of Emergency Services fight the undead and get free candy.

Oct. 27

Make a Difference Day, 7 a.m. to noon Oct. 27. Volunteers are needed to help paint, rake, clean up, run book, clothing or food drives and more. The Legal Assistance Office is currently looking for full- and part-time volunteers to assist with the 2018 tax season, which runs from January through April 2019. Volunteers are needed for both weekdays and weekends. No previous formal tax training is required, as training is provided. Volunteers will attend a multi-day training session conducted by the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Interested individuals may contact Capt. Once selected, volunteers are registered with the Army Volunteer Corps.

Registration is open for Youth Sports & Fitness Introduction to Wrestling until Nov. 2. Open to youth ages 5-10. Practices will begin around November 19 in Building 614. All dates and times are tentative. Cost is $45 per youth. Cost includes a team uniform top and medallion. Register youth at Parent Central Services, located in Bldg. 470, Room 1126.
