March 4-10

Get prepared with Severe Weather Awareness Week

From Monday to March 10, the National Weather Service, State Emergency Management Agency and local emergency managers urge individuals to learn about severe weather and how to protect themselves during Missouri Severe Weather Awareness Week. In combination with Severe Weather Awareness Week, a severe weather Tornado Drill is slated for 10 a.m. March 6. It is recommended to practice taking shelter as outdoor warning sirens and weather alert radios across the state will sound. If severe weather is in the forecast for Tuesday, the drill will be moved to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8. PCSing with Pets

The Fort Leonard Wood Vet Clinic will present information about PCSing, or moving, with pets at 4 p.m. March 7 in the Truman Education Center, Room 10. For more information, or to register, call 573.596.0094.

March 10

MWR Job Fair

An MWR Job Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 10 at the St. Robert Community Center. Open to all job seekers. Agencies are hiring for the following permanent and summer positions: Recreation Aide, Facility Aide, Lifeguard, Food Service Workers, School Bus Drivers, AAFES Retail positions, and AMERICORP and VISTA positions. Some positions do have an age requirement for applicant to be 16 years and above, or by consent of a legal guardian. For more information, call 573.596.0283.

March 10

Annual 5k/10k Clover Dash

The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation will host the 5k/10k Clover Dash at 9 a.m. March 10 starting from the Davidson Fitness Center. Awards will be given for the 5k/10k overall male/female finishers and for the top finishers in various age groups. Race packets can be picked up March 9 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Davidson Fitness Center. Pre-registration is open until March 8 at DFC or online at leonardwood.armymwr.com. Day of registration will be from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Advance registration is $10 and same day registration is $15. Runners registering after 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event will not be timed. LORA Crappie Tournament

The 2018 LORA Crappie Tournament is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17. No boat is required for this event, which is open to the public. Participants can fish off docks, the shore or personal boats. Entry is $30 per person. An optional Big Crappie contest is also available for an additional $10 fee.
