June 23

Hop on the Bus to Six Flags, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m June 23. The bus will leave Leisure Travel Services, located in the Exchange Mini Mall, at 8 a.m. and will return at 8 p.m. Open to the public, all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $60 per person and includes entrance to Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, and transportation. Register by June 22. Saturday Legal Assistance, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 23 at the Fort Leonard Wood Legal Assistance Office. The office will be open special weekend hours to provide legal assistance services through a staff of three Judge Advocates and two paralegals. Legal assistance attorneys and  paralegals can help with wills, powers of attorney, basic estate planning, family law matters such as divorce, custody and support, landlord/tenant issues, military administrative actions, real estate, and consumer law and other issues.  Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. A presentation by the Rev. Jeffrey Grob, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 28 at the Main Post Chapel. This event, hosted by Catholic Women of the Chapel, will give a brief overview of Catholic teaching on angels and demons. Question and answer forum will be hosted afterwards with refreshments. No pets or personal coolers allowed at event. The special ceremony featuring the 50-gun Salute to the Union will begin at 7:45 p.m. followed by a headline concert featuring the band Smallpools. July 4th Car Show, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 4 at Gammon Field. Categories include Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles. The top vehicles in each category, plus Best in Show, will be chosen by our Service Men & Women and the Fort Leonard Wood Community. The event is free and open to the public.
