Feb. 9

Pet vaccine clinic, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Fort Leonard Wood Veterinary Treatment Facility. Services offered are wellness exams, vaccines, microchip implantation, heartworm testing and FeLV/FIV testing. For more information, call 573.596.0094.

Feb. 11

General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital’s Patient Townhall is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 11 at the MEDDAC classroom. This is the public’s chance to speak to hospital leadership and positively effect change. For more information, contact the GLWACH Public Affairs office at 573.596.9359.

Feb. 12

Pre-retirement Briefing, 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 12 at Lincoln Hall Auditorium. Attendance is mandatory for all Soldiers with pre-approved retirements and at least 12 months before their retirement date. Pre-registration is not required. For more information, call 573.596.0947.

Body Pump, 4:45 p.m. Feb. 12 at Davidson Fitness Center. Body Pump is a barbell workout that improves muscular strength and endurance while burning fat. The class also assists in improving aerobic fitness and offers positive psychological benefits. This course has been proven to improve bone density. Cost is $3 per class of $27 for a 10 punch card. Feb. 13

The FLW United Soccer Club will hold a meeting for all interested players on Fort Leonard Wood from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at BOSS Corner, Bldg. 496. The club is open to members of all services, their family members ages 18 and older with valid ID card, as well as government civilian employees and contractors directly affiliated with Fort Leonard Wood. The club plays in regular scrimmages and matches throughout the region, culminating in the Defender’s Cup Military Soccer Tournament in San Antonio, Texas, over Labor Day weekend.

Feb. 16

Bold in the Cold is slated for 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at Training Area 250. Support your local Better Opportunities for Single Service Members Program at the annual plunge.  Prizes will be awarded for best team theme, best couple, and best individual with the most moxie. This free event is open to the public, all ages.  Register until the day of the event at the BOSS Corner, located in Bldg. 496 at Constitution and Replacement Avenues, weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and weekends from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Interested participants can also register for this event at Davidson Fitness Center. Feb. 23

The Outdoor Adventure Center and Natural Resources Branch of Fort Leonard Wood, along with the U.S. Forest Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation announced they will hold the annual Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Stone Mill Spring Recreation Area. The event is open to participants ages 15 and younger. Anglers can fish for nearly 1,000 rainbow trout, including specially-marked trout that they can turn in for prizes. Participants must bring their own fishing poles, tackle and bait. The event is free, and no pre-registration is required. Parking will be allowed along the shoulders of Route 26 toward Piney Valley Golf Course. Father Daughter Dance, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 23 at Nutter Field House. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. for pictures. Feb. 26

The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood Black History Month Celebration is scheduled for 11:30 to 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Pershing Community Center. The Fort Leonard Wood Tax Center will remain open through the end of April, and is located on the first floor of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Building 315. Appointments can be made by calling the Fort Leonard Wood Tax Center at 573.596.1040. The FLW Tax Center’s hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays.  While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins are welcome during the Tax Center’s hours of operation.

Alcoholics Anonymous, meets from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Main Post Chapel, Room 132. Other meetings are at 8 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays on Hemphill Road, off Highway Y in St. Robert. There is also a women-only meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesdays at this location. The Fort Leonard Wood Retiree Council is seeking nominations for the 2019 Distinguished Retiree of the Year. Selectee must be retired at least 10 years and currently living within the Fort Leonard Wood retirement services area of responsibility.
