August 5
The Fort Leonard Wood Blood Donor Center has four upcoming walk-in dates for those interested in donating blood to the Armed Services Blood Program. Donors are welcome between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Aug. 5, 6, 12 and 13. Call 573.596.6150 for details.
August 7
General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital is hosting school and sports physical appointments between 7:30 a.m. and noon Aug. 7 to 9 in the Pediatric Clinic for eligible beneficiaries ages 5 to 17. Call 866.299.4234 to make an appointment.
August 9
The Truman Army Education Center is hosting the 39th Annual Combined Colleges and Universities Graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. Aug. 9 in the Main Post Chapel. The deadline to sign-up to participate is 4 p.m. July 26 by calling 573.596.0172.
August 10
Will your boat float? Find out in this year’s Cardboard Boat Race August 10 at TA250 lake. Check-in is from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Race begins at 11 a.m. Teams will construct a two-person boat that is hopefully capable of completing the course. Join us at the Rec Plex August 10 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for a fun evening of luau-themed finger foods, unlimited swimming, and mini golf. Leonard Wood Army Motor Transport Operators are invited to attend the event, which will include briefings from Transportation Corps leaders; promotion and retention information; and assignment opportunities with the White House Military Office and White House Transportation Agency, and

August 17
Are you ready for the new school year? Join us at our Back to School Fair from 10 to 11 a.m. August 17 at Bruce C. Clarke Library. Enjoy fun activities and helpful resources, plus a backpack and school supply giveaway. Giveaway is available while supplies last. Open to DoD ID card holders and their school age children. Child must be present.
September 24
All Fort Leonard Wood military spouses are invited to attend a spouses’ event on Sept. 24, during the Military Police Regimental Week. The event will include fun competition while allowing spouses to gain a better understanding of aspects of MP training on the installation. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP via email to 1st Lt. Tyler French at tyler.j.french15.mil@army.mil.

The first week of August is designated Military Spouse Voters Week. Information on registering to vote and obtaining an absentee ballot is available on the

The Fort Leonard Wood Commissary has new locations for drop-off orders when using the Click2Go option. They include the NCO Academy, Bldg. 3223, from 11 to 11:30 a.m.; 3200 Morelli Heights, from noon to 12:30 p.m.; 1950 Magness St., from 1 to 1:30 p.m.; 14763 Kidwell St., Bldg. 1945, from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m.; 1981 Cooksey St., from 2:30 to 3 p.m.; and 1910 Hall St., from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. Call 573.596.0783, extension 3425, for details.

Fort Leonard Wood’s Directorate of Emergency Services has policies on checking teenager Department of Defense ID cards at installation access points. If a child is with a parent or guardian, then no ID is required unless the child looks close in appearance to an adult or if the child is driving. Additionally, DOD ID card holders under the age of 18 are not authorized to sponsor non-DOD personnel on post. The South Gate is now open 24/7, and the West Gate is open from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. There are no changes to the hours of operation for the North or East gates.
