April 22

Can you ride 1,000 km (621 miles) over 4 months? Join the 2024 Army Outdoor Recreation Cycling Challenge to find out. Ride outdoors on roads and trails. Track your progress from May 1 through August 31. Reach the goal to win a cycling jersey. Open to all authorized patrons. Cost of registration is $50. April 23

Join us at 10:30 a.m. April 23 at the Bruce C. Clarke library for Story Time. We’ll read a couple of books, do some music and movement and have a small craft afterwards. Stay awhile later and play with STEM kits. The event is free. Call 573.563.4113 for more information.

April 24

A Child Youth Services Hiring Fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 24 at School Age Center, Building 616. Apply to become a Child and Youth Program Assistant. Join us at 5 p.m. April 24 at Piney Valley Golf Course for the 9-hole Wednesday Evening Scramble. Build your own team or let us pair you up. Scramble is open to ages 18 and up. Cost is $20 for members or $25 for non-members. Cost includes golf, cart and prizes. Register early at PVGC, as spots fill up quickly.

April 27

Fort Leonard Wood’s Religious Support Office is hosting an event from 5 to 7 p.m. April 27 at the Main Post Chapel called Military Kids Thrive, intended to provide resiliency tips for military children. April 28

2024 Youth Sports & Fitness Summer Season will run from May 28 through July 20. This summer’s sport is Co-ed Volleyball. Volunteer coaches needed for all age groups. April 29

Kids bowl free from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. from now all the way through September at Daugherty Bowling Center. Offer available to registered youth Wednesday through Saturday. Youth Sports and Fitness will be offering Mini Sports for ages three to four. Kids will spend two weeks learning the skills of each sport: Basketball, Soccer, and T-Ball. Season runs from June 8 through July 13. Sessions are 45 minutes long at 9, 10, or 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Current year’s sports physicals required for all participants. Cost is $30 per child, t-shirt included.
