FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (July 11, 2024) — As part of the Army’s force restructure, the 399th Army Band, located at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, is slated to inactivate by Oct. 14, 2024.
Discussions surrounding the band’s potential inactivation have been ongoing for several months, and the final decision from the Army was received July 3. Planning for this change is underway and updates will be provided on the band’s ability to support command and community events between now and October.
We understand the impact the 399th Army Band has on the community, and the leaders from the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood are committed to providing a smooth transition for all involved.
The 399th Army Band has proudly served the Fort Leonard Wood community since 1955, supporting our Soldiers, families and civilians throughout the region and performing for vast audiences across multiple states. We are proud of their rich history and their lasting legacy as the premiere musical organization of Fort Leonard Wood.
