FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (Oct. 9, 2018) — In observance of Fire Prevention Week Oct. 7-13, the Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department invites the community to Fire Fest 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13.
The family-friendly event will take place outside the Main Exchange at the PX parking lot on Fort Leonard Wood.
Attendees of all ages can meet Firefighters, see the fire trucks, tour the Fire Safety Trailer, meet Sparky the Fire Dog and learn about fire prevention and response.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere,” works to educate people about three basic but essential steps to take to reduce the likelihood of having a fire––and how to escape safely in the event of one.
