Aug. 31

The Wednesday Evening Scramble will be held at Piney Valley Golf Course every Wednesday. The 4-person scramble includes 9 holes with a 5 p.m. shotgun start. $20 per person. Early signup is required, stop by the Piney Valley Golf Course or call 573.329.4770 to register today.

Sept. 1

The Fort Leonard Wood Commissary is hosting a Labor Day sidewalk sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 1 to 3, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 4. Call 573.596.0783 for details.

The General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital has COVID-19 vaccine appointments available for all beneficiaries on Sept. 1 and Sept. 22. Those under 18 years old may make an appointment between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m., and adults between 1 and 4 p.m. Call 866.299.4234 for details.

Sept. 2

Sept. 9

Commanding General’s Scramble will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 9 at Piney Valley Golf Course. Bring your 4-person team to have some fun in this 9 or 18 hole scramble. Open to ages 18 and older. Prizes and flights will be based on the number of participants. $45 for 9 holes and $60 for 18 holes. Fee covers golf, cart, range balls, food and prizes. Team mulligans can be purchased for $20. Fort Leonard Wood is set to host its Retiree Appreciation Days celebration Sept. 9 and 10 at various locations around the installation. Events this year will include a bus tour of the post, a retirement ceremony, lunch in an Army dining facility, retiree dinner and a town hall. The goal is to provide retirees and their families with information, services and assistance concerning their personal affairs, benefits, privileges, rights and entitlements. Sept. 10

The Big Bass Tournament will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area. Each boat must have a DoD ID card holder. Cost is $40 per team. There is also an additional optional $10 fee for Big Bass. For more information, call 573.346.5640.

The 2022 Fall Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 10 at Baker Theater Parking Lot. Cost is $30 for advance registration, $40 for day-of registration, and $5 for tables (advance registration only). Sellers are limited to one vehicle per purchased space. All other vehicles can park in adjacent lots or on the street. The following items may not be sold: food items, supplements, homeopathics, medications, weapons, animals or livestock. Sept. 15

Join the Bruce C. Clarke Clarke Library from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. September 15 for STEAM Lab. This is a self-paced event with various science, technology, engineering, art and math kits to explore. Event is free and open to ages 3 and up. Children under 13 must have parent or guardian supervision. Anger Management courses will be held monthly on Fridays throughout September in Army Community Service Room A from 12 to 1:30 p.m. People who have a problem with anger don’t always know how to express it in appropriate and constructive ways. Stress management courses will be held on Fridays throughout September in Army Community Service Room A from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Working through each lesson in this course will help you better understand the origins of your stress and provide you with a practical approach for reducing stress in your life, thus improving your health and emotional well-being.
