FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (Dec. 14, 2018) – According to the Directorate of Emergency Services, Fort Leonard Wood is slated to host 10 graduations next week, which is expected to result in delays at the North and West gates on post.
The most significant delays are expected on Dec. 18 for Family Day, and Dec. 19 for graduation ceremonies.
“To give this context, when there are three or four graduations in one week, we have a considerable amount of traffic,” said Lt. Col. Graham “Otto” Swenson, Fort Leonard Wood director of Emergency Services. “The graduations we have next week are big graduations. Add to that, many families will be on post to pick up their service members for Holiday Block Leave.”
DES asks personnel to consider using the East Gate for entry on those two days. East Gate hours are 5 to 9 a.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.
All motorists are reminded to allow extra time to arrive at their destinations.
