The mural, valued at more than $370,000 and the work of Army Staff Sgt. Samuel Countee, was sent to Chicago last year for conservation at an estimated cost of about $40,000. The Countee mural returned to Fort Leonard Wood following nearly six months of renovation and conservation work. The painting is currently in storage awaiting display. (Photo credit: Courtesy photo)
