Capt. William Mangold and Capt. Shawn Meyer, U.S. Army CBRN School, will represent Fort Leonard Wood during the 2018 Best Ranger Competition April 13-15 at Fort Benning, Georgia.

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (April 12, 2018) — A team from the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School will represent Fort Leonard Wood April 13-15┬áin the 2018 Lt. Gen. David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning, Georgia.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the grueling competition, which features U.S. Army Rangers. The Best Ranger Competition was started in 1982.

The competition has evolved over the past thirty years from one that was originally created to salute the best two man “buddy” team in the Ranger Department at Fort Benning, to determine the best two-man team from the entire United States Armed Forces.
