Sept. 24

Military Police Corps Regimental Memorial Tribute, 9 a.m. Sept. 24 at Memorial Grove. The ceremony is dedicated to honoring fallen military police Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Sept. 25

Armed Services Blood Program Blood Drive, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at Davidson Fitness Center. Open to the public. Donors must be ages 17 or older and weigh at least 110 lbs. Military Police Spouses Challenge “Order of the Cross Pistols,” 7:30 a.m. Sept. 25 at Training Area 98 and Stem Village. Cost is $5.60 for lunch and $18 for a T-shirt.

Sept. 26

The Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department is scheduled to host a Car Safety Seat Inspection from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Williams Elementary School, located at 8041 Pulaski Avenue. This event will give parents the opportunity to have their children’s car seats checked by certified inspectors for proper installation. To participate in the event, parents are asked to bring the car seat, car safety seat owner’s manual and the vehicle owner’s manual. In the event of inclement weather, the inspection will be held at Fort Leonard Wood Fire Station 1. For parents who cannot make the event, appointments can be scheduled at the fire department during normal working hours, which are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Military Police Corps Regimental Run, 5:30 a.m. Sept. 26 on Gammon Field. Civilians and retirees are welcome to participate and will be placed information upon arrival. Following the run, a cake cutting ceremony will take place with remarks by Brig. Gen. Brian Bisacre, U.S. Army Military Police School commandant.

Military Police Corps Regimental Trap Shoot, 10 a.m. Sept. 26 at the Outdoor Adventure Center. This event requires five-person teams and the cost is $14 per competitor.

Sept. 27

The Bruce C. Clarke Library is hosting an art and poetry gallery challenge for all ages. The theme is “I Speak for the Books.” To enter pick up a form from the circulation desk to fill out and submit with your artwork. Visit the children’s room to view the collection of books that are to be used as the inspiration for your art piece. Note: all the books are wordless and it is up to you to tell their story using art, poetry, or a short story. Turn your artwork in with the form to any staff member. The Gallery Event will be on Sept. 27 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the Young Adult section. On that day patrons can vote on their favorite pieces. There will be 3 age groups for the challenge and prizes will be awarded to the winners. All ages are encouraged to participate and attend. For more information, call 573.563.5857.

Military Police Corps Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 12 p.m. Sept. 27 in Lincoln Hall Auditorium. This ceremony honors the year’s outstanding MPs and inducts them into the Military Police Hall of Fame. Following the ceremony, the photo unveiling will take place at the John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex.

Sept. 28

Military Police Corps Regimental Golf Retreat, 9 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Pine Valley Golf Course. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $60.

Sept. 29

Military Police Corps Regimental Ball, 6 p.m. Sept. 29 at Nutter Field House. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are required for this event.

Oct. 1

OCS Hall of Fame nomination deadline. The Hall of fame is intended to honor OCS graduates who have distinguished themselves in military or civilian pursuits. Eligibility criteria and required documents are available at www.benning.army.mil/infantry/199th/ocs/.

Oct. 9

Pre-retirement briefing for active-duty personnel, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 9 at Lincoln Hall Auditorium. Attendance is mandatory for all Soldiers with approved retirements and at least 12 months before their retirement date. For more information, call 573.596.0947.
